Most unobstructed view of KCS Boxcar 7921
Greg Slaton provided the following description of how this car ended up in the woods (you can see the KCS mainline in the background). "On 9/28/1941, the southbound passenger #15 (out of Shreveport) struck Extra 751 North (out of Leesville) at the south siding switch at Holly, 8 people were injured. The passenger train had engine 802 and 6 cars. The freight had 2-8-8-0 engine 751 with tender, an auxiliary water car, and 54 cars and a caboose. The engine and tender derailed and were damaged, the water car was destroyed, and the second car in the train (unidentified) was derailed with "the front end crushed inward". This is supposedly that freight car.
